YEREVAN-TOURINFO- The first museum of the Republic of Armenia (The History Museum of Armenia) was founded in 1919. It is a research Center of Armenia’s history and culture. The national collection consists of about 400,000 objects, unique archeological, numismatic and ethnographical specimens. The history and culture of Armenia from the period of Paleolith to our days.


On September 9, 2019, on the occasion of the centenary anniversary of History Museum of Armenia, a conference was held at the Matenadaran Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts Research.
Representatives of prestigious museums abroad participated in the event, in particular partners of the Armenian State Hermitage, the Louvre, US Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Russian History, the Museum of Antiquities in Arles, The State Russian Museum and Exhibition Center ROSPHOTO, as well as Armenian historians, archaeologists and artists from France, Italy, Russia were present at the conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Museum of Armenian History.


During the meeting, jubilee medals were given to those who made a great contribution to the museum’s popularization and to the honored staff of the museum.
