YEREVAN-TOURINFO- A new diamond-cutting factory opened in the city of Abovyan on December 2, 2019. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan attended the opening ceremony of the “A.D.M. DIAMONDS” factory.

The “A.D.M. DIAMONDS” company (established in 2017) has 3600 square meters of territory with an opportunity of 700 employees. About $ 3.5 million invested in the implementation of the project. The company plans to increase export to $100 million in 2020. The PM toured in the factory, was acquainted with the process of diamond manufacturing and the upcoming projects. Nikol Pashinyan highlighted the development of the sphere in Armenia and noted that the Government is ready to provide appropriate support in the limits of its powers.

The company operates on its own raw materials, using India’s experience to allow diamond faceting to be performed anywhere and at any distance.
According to the head of the company, the application of this experience in Armenia enables to create jobs in remote regions where there is a problem of employment, thus solving the most important social issue.

The company also has a workshop for the disabled, which will expand in the future.
The diamond industry in Armenia is a significant part of the country’s manufacturing and exports. Armenia is a major supplier of diamond.
