TOURINFO Magazine –  Armenia is able to delight its guests at any time of the year and the cold seasons are not exceptions. If you have only one day in Armenia but want to spend it with maximum pleasure and benefit, we suggest a one-day plan that can help you with some key destinations of the day.

Arrival: 8:30 am – 9:30 am Breakfast at Metropol 2/2 M. Mashtots Ave. Or Louis Charden: 11 Amiryan Str.   If you arrived to Yerevan late at night, Metropol hotel might become your first stop. After spending night there you can have two options for your breakfast: either to have a traditional one in the hotel or, if you want to kill two birds with one stone, a cosmopolitan one in Louis Charden where fresh French croissant along with other European dishes are served.

As there is some time to plan your evening pastime, you can acquaint yourself with some options from our What’s On and buy the tickets beforehand, if there is a necessity.

 

10:00 am – 11:30 am – Matenadaran Meusum – 53 M. Mashtots Ave.

Closed on Mondays and Sundays -Every local person knows that the perfect place to have close acquaintance with Armenian culture and heritage is the Matenadaran – research institute by itself, the world’s largest repository of ancient manuscripts and collections of archival documents. Among many unique writings, here you can find the largest and smallest, thinnest, and thickest books on earth.

12:00 pm – 1:30 pm Lunch Yasaman Yerevan’s Restaurant: 1/1 M. Yekmalyan Str. or El-Garden: 8 Tsitsernakaberd Hwy

As for lunch place you may choose either Yasaman Restaurant or El-Garden. Both have unique and authentic interior, the cuisines are rich in choice and flavor. In case if you are traveling with your family, El-Garden has special zone for kids where they will have good time with peers and people entertaining and taking care of them.

2:00 pm – 3:00 pm Vernissage: 1, 3 Buzand Str

After being enriched with the theoretical background, you can continue the tour by physical immerse into the art of national craft in both an open-air and exhibition market – Vernissage. It is the place where traditional Armenian designs and products clash with modernity of local artisans occurs. There you can find a large variety of hand-made souvenirs, jewelry, music instruments, carpets, and furniture.

4:00 pm – 6:00 pm  – Winter park: 1/8 Tbilisyan Hwy

Winter Park is a good place for interactive and engaging pastime for everyone. The largest outdoor skating rink in the city located there. Winter Park is a small Lapland of Yerevan, it is wonderfully decorated with winter lights, so visiting it even in February is still pleasant and enjoyable.

6:30 pm – 9:00 pm-Dinner and Cascade Los Pueblos: Cascade, Suites, 6, 18-19 Tamanyan Str.

A good ending of your day can become a dinner in a Mexican restaurant Los Pueblos which is located right next to the last destination – Cascade. It is a giant stairway made of white limestone that has various sculptures and monuments in both its downstairs alley and on the higher levels. From the top of it opens breathtaking view on the Yerevan the memory of which will become the most precious take away from the trip. ~February 2020 180
