Armenpress. On March 27, 2024, 2 Armenian satellites were finally registered in the list of objects launched into space by the United Nations. According to “Armenpress”, Minister of Advanced Industries of the Republic of Armenia, Mkhitar Hayraptian, mentioned this issue in a press conference on the 100th day of his tenure.
He said: In January 2024, a satellite data receiving station was established in Armenia. We are talking about the Geokosmos receiver station. On March 27, 2024, 2 Armenian satellites were finally registered in the United Nations list of objects launched into space.
He has started using the data obtained from the “Armest 1” satellite in the framework of updating 1:200,000 scale maps, monitoring and other studies.
The minister also added that measures have been taken to use the capabilities of the “Armest 1” satellite to serve the scientific fields of the Republic of Armenia.
