Tatev-Khndzoresk-Karahunj

Though the days are becoming colder, November promises to be kind and provide great weather conditions for those who want to discover Armenia in autumn. This month we suggest you take the route to Tatev monastery, Khndzoresk and Karahunj. As the attractions are located in Syunik marz (region), it’ll take you more than 4 hours to get there.

Guided tours to this destination cost at about $20 per person including transportation (there can be a slight difference depending on the tour agency’s price policy). During this fascinating trip you will also have a chance to travel by the world’s longest cable car called TaTever where you have to pay $7 for two way ticket.

There are no additional fees for the remaining attractions. You will have an opportunity to see Khndzoresk’s 160m long swinging bridge and cave apartments where people used to live until the 1950s. Besides you will have a chance to see the cemetery of one of the most famous Armenian heroes Mkhitar Sparapet and two churches of 15-17 century. Apart from these, Karahunj ancient observatory (there is a proven evidence that it’s older than Stonehenge in England), Devils Bridge and Tatev Monastery will fulfill your one day trip.

Good news for wine lovers, you will have free wine tasting in Areni Wine Factory getting introduced to the Armenian oldest winemaking traditions as well.

What a great chance to discover more than one cultural heritage just in a day, isn’t it?
