YEREVAN, AUGUST 21, 2019- TOURINFO- Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan on his Facebook page announced that the Irish low-cost airline RYANAIR is looking into the possibility of entering the Armenian market.On August 20, 2019 the Head of the Civil Aviation Committee Tatevik Revazyan and Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan had a meeting with the Commercial Director of the Irish Company RYANAIR David O’Brien and Kate Sheri, where they discussed a string of issues related to the possible entry of the
Ryanair into the Armenian market.
Earlier, the Head of the Civil Aviation Committee Tatevik Revazyan had said that the low-cost airlines RYANAIR and WIZZ AIR were planning to enter the Armenian market in summer 2020. To increase the attractiveness of the Armenian aviation market for low-cost airlines, the Aviation Committee has developed legislative amendments, providing discounts for launching new air routes. The changes also eliminate the so-called”air tax”.
RYANAIR is an Irish low-cost airline founded in 1984, headquartered in Swords, Dublin, Ireland. In 2016, RYANAIR was the largest European budget airline.
