YEREVAN-TOURINFO- “City of Masters” Gyumri Day celebrated on August 25, 2019. Various outdoor events were held in different parts of GYUMRI (Armenia’s second large city): Festive Concerts, Screenings, Puppet Shows and more. One of the most important events was the reopening of the renovated Shiraz Street where masters from Gyumri presented their arts and crafts. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was also present at the event. There were guests not only from different communities of the republic but also from different countries. The Festive Day ended with a GALA Concert in the Central square of GYUMRI, with singers from Gyumri and invited singers. At the end the Mayor of Gyumri & RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the crowd. And as always the festive day ended with fireworks display.
Gyumri Mayor Mr. Balasanyan during his speech mentioned that: “Gyumri is a city of arts and crafts, a city of celebrities, a city of famous artists, writers and athletes. This city has become a major tourist city, the facts show that all the hotels, café & restaurants are full of tourists, this shows that we have succeeded to make GYUMRI a Tourist Attractive City”.
Prime Minister Pashinyan also stated that: “Gyumri has gone through all hardships, poverty, difficult days, but it still shows that its determination is to live, build, work, flourish and become a true center of cultural, political and economic life and he declared Month of Gyumri city, from August 25 to September 21, urged all citizens of Armenia, compatriots in the Diaspora to visit Gyumri”.
