YEREVAN-TOURINFO- On October 12, at the initiative of the Republic of Artsakh Ministry of Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism, the State Service for the Preservation of the Historical Environment SNCO and Karabakh Carpet Ltd., an exhibition of handmade rugs and carpets with the name of “Game of Dragons” was held in Tigranakert fortress in Artsakh.
The name is “Game of Dragons” because the main symbol of Artsakh carpets is a dragon.
The event was attended by Minister of Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism of Artaskh, members of delegation from different countries, tourists and guests. Visitors had the opportunity to get acquainted with the types of Armenian carpets and their vibrant colors.
Carpet weaving is a traditional art from common Armenians of all regions, but Artsakh carpets are so distinctive and well-known that they are placed in the category of their own. Woolen threads for Artsakh carpets are dyeing using natural ingredients.
One of the goals of organizing carpet exhibition is to proclaim the Tigranakert castle famous for its historical value and positive energy. The merging of rocks and carpets create harmony.
