YEREVAN-TOURINFO-Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, who is currently visiting the Western Asian country is expected to sign the visa waiver agreement with the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad, Shantnews.am reports. The officials discussed the opportunities to deepen the relations between the two countries. They agreed that there are great opportunities for mutual partnership between the two friendly countries and good grounds to expand and strengthen bilateral cooperation. The sides highlighted construction, tourism, real estate, and agriculture and food safety as prospective fields for cooperation.
“Mutual cancellation of visa requirements by Qatar will have a positive impact on further boosting economic, cultural, scientific, educational and especially tourism ties” the decision was justified by Armenia’s representatives.
Yerevan opened an Embassy in Doha earlier in 2019. In May, Qatar declared its intention to open a diplomatic mission in Armenia.
