TOURINFO-A growing tourist attraction, a village located in the green flat valleys of River Getik 1860 meters above sea level, Chambarak in Gegharkunik Region harbors a number of newborn enterprises. Guesthouses and hostels, restaurants, outdoor recreational activities, abundant nature and friendly locals, varieties of rural and extreme tourism – this is a wonder-pack a tourist seeks to meet in a foreign country. Fortunately, all of the mentioned can be found in Chambarak!

Paragliding, a recreational and adventure sport type, is on the way of becoming a tourist attraction in Chambarak, offering a choice to the lovers of extreme outdoor activities.
Founded thanks to the efforts of the “Youth Republic” social non-governmental organization in line with the EU funded “EU for Tourism: Community-Based Rural Tourism and Cultural Events in Gegharkunik and Vayots Dzor Marzes” project, the initiative came to life opening doors in front of both national and international tourists since August 23, 2019.

If you want to eliminate your fear from height and admire the breathtaking bird’s-eye view of the Armenian landscapes, then don’t miss the opportunity!

One of the most important requirements before taking on the flight is that you should BELIEVE YOU CAN FLY! In Chambarak, you can easily appear in the sky 1 km above the ground in all four seasons of the year and see the unseen. The flight will grant you unforgettable moments of peace, bliss, and satisfaction. The experienced, most cheerful and friendly pilot, who has started paragliding since 2008, will take you to the blue and inspiring sky of Armenia and teach you how to be a bird.

Near the paragliding spot, there are also a variety of indoor and outdoor activities you can try. For example, Guest House Old Forge invites its visitors to try forging like people in old times did: if you’re a woman, an 86-years old forger can teach you the techniques of forging beautiful jewelry, and if you’re a man, he can teach you how to forge knives, etc.

There is a small cheese factory in Chambarak, where you can take a master class of Armenian cheese making and experience it by yourself. So, don’t miss the chance of experiencing all of the above-mentioned pleasures and visit Chambarak!
