YEREVAN-TOURINFO-On December 10, a photo exhibition featuring the life of famous Mexican painter Frida Kahlo opened at the Yeritasardakan (Youth) subway station of Yerevan subway.
The exhibition is within the framework of “Art in the Metro” project, which is organized by Karen Demirchyan Yerevan Metro and with the support of the Honorary Consulate of Mexico to the Republic of Armenia. Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) was a Mexican painter known for her many portraits, self-portraits, and works inspired by the nature and artifacts of Mexico. Inspired by the country’s popular culture, she employed a naïve folk art style to explore questions of identity, postcolonialism, gender, class, and race in Mexican society. The Frida Kahlo photos will be on display until December 20, 2019.
