TourInfo-April 24, 2021- on the day that Armenians worldwide mark Genocide Remembrance Day, the United States has recognized the 1915 massacre of as many as 1.5 million Armenians by the Ottoman Empire as GENOCIDE.
President Joe Biden on Saturday became the first US president to officially recognize the massacre of Armenians under the Ottoman Empire as a genocide.
In a statement marking the 106th anniversary of the massacre’s start, President Joe Biden said in a statement on April 24, 2021, “Each year on this day, we remember the lives of all those who died in the Ottoman-era Armenian genocide and recommit ourselves to preventing such an atrocity from ever again occurring.”
“And we remember so that we remain ever-vigilant against the corrosive influence of hate in all its forms.”
