We have submitted an official proposal to host the 2027 Francophone International Cultural, Sports and Cultural Games – Armenian Public Radio

news.am: ​​The meeting between Ararat Mirzoyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, and Louise Moshikiwabo, Secretary General of Francophonie, was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
Ararat Mirzoyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country, said in a special speech: I welcome your and your delegation’s visit to Yerevan and note with pleasure that this is your fourth visit to Armenia in the last five years and your second visit as Secretary General. It is Francophone. Such dynamic dialogue is proof of high-level relations and close cooperation between Armenia and the International Organization of Francophonie, and today, in a period full of challenges for our country and the region, this trip is considered a message of solidarity.
As part of the large-scale Francophonie region, Armenia has reaffirmed the connection of its integral value system with Francophonie over the past decades. The achievements of recent years, including hosting the Francophonie Summit in Yerevan in 2018 and assuming the presidency of this organization for 4 years according to the conditions, show this, that is, when we assumed the responsibility, we held the responsibility for 2 years. We took over. Then it was extended.
One of the primary directions of cooperation with Francophonie is to promote the education and dissemination of the French language, including through the 2026-2023 program in the four-year national plan of France signed between Armenia and this organization. We also continue to advance the Francophone cultural agenda, the clearest proof of which is the organization of two monthly Francophone magazines in Armenia every year for ten years. This year was no exception and more than 700 cultural events were held in Armenia from March to April.
One of the manifestations of Armenia’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Francophone is the official proposal to host the International Sports and Cultural Games of Francophone Armenia in 2027, and we expect a positive response from this organization. I am sure that they can provide a unique opportunity for young representatives of the international francophone community to unite around the values ​​of peace, human rights and coexistence.
