The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports not only did not abandon the idea of liquidating the “Goi” theater, which has a creative life of 35 years, as soon as possible, but also, according to the artistic director of the theater, Artur Sahakyan, resorted to more drastic measures. Hours before the New Year, the acting director of Goi, Sargis Choloyan, was dismissed by the ministry without prior warning, and a few hours later, Karen Simonyan was appointed a new director.
“That citizen is an actor by profession, and if he didn’t come to sign the closure resolution to become Judas, then why did he come?” Sahakyan emphasized in a conversation with “Azatutyan”.
“Let’s have a person here who will complete the process.” – KGS Minister Zhanna Andrasyan announced during the final press conference at the end of the year that the incumbent was replaced because he did not fulfill the requirements of the Government’s decision.
Back in the summer, “Goi” appealed to the administrative court, demanding to recognize the Government’s decision as invalid, according to which the theater should be dissolved and join the Academic Theater named after Sundukyan. The case has now been transferred from the administrative court to the civil court. Although the case is still in court, the ministry submitted a new application to the theater months ago, again demanding to sign the contract regarding the inclusion of “Goi” in the Mother Theater. Both the acting director and the acting director Sargis Arzumanyan did not sign that document.
The theater claims that this haste of the Government is at least not legal. – “Which should have been signed with a back number. It’s true, recently the minister said, “You don’t have basic legal knowledge, it’s not a back number, I can show you the document where that month-date is mentioned.” We are sure that there will be justice, and civil judge Gayane Mazmanyan will send it back to the administrative court,” Artur Sahakyan said.
Zhanna Andreasyan, who reaffirms that they will not back down from the decision to liquidate “Goi”, did not want to enter into legal discussions with journalists, insisting that she is doing what she can.
“Now let’s start discussing the judicial process with you, the right to which, to be honest, I think I, for example, do not have the right as an official. We take note of the process that is being carried out by the court,” the minister stated.
“From the legal point of view, we are currently implementing the process that can be fully implemented during the examination of this case,” added Andreasyan.
“They cannot help but do what they do. Now can you imagine if they lose to us, they don’t imagine. Do you understand, this is not a bakery, this is not a casino, creativity is formed here,” emphasizes the artistic director of “Goi”.
