“Goy”. has not yet been dissolved and merged with “Sundukyan”, claim the theater, stating that no legal process of liquidation has taken place. Sargis Arzumanyan, the chairman of the management board of the “Goi” theater, emphasizes that there is no mention of this even in the state registry.
“When the SNOC ceases to have state registration, then it will be considered to have joined the Sundukyan theater, but today our SNOC exists, it is registered in the state register, there was no transfer, I don’t know what they say, it has joined.” – “Freedom” he said.
The representatives of the theater see a political context in the process of uniting “Goi”, justifying what they said, that the play with a political and critical theme is the reason. The ministry refused to respond verbally to the claims of the theater representatives, and urged them to send a written request.
Prior to that, the minister referred to the dissolution of “Goi” in the National Assembly-Government question-and-answer session. Zhanna Andreasyan claims that new opportunities are created for “Goi” by uniting with the mother theater, for example, the creative group can use the stage of “Sundukyan”.
“Nothing is happening with Goi theater as a creative unit. We are talking about the process of unification of two SNOCs, which operated in one building. Let me remind you that even the “Sundukyan” theater paid the utilities of “Goi”, and in that sense there is no completely independent and completely autonomous situation. At the moment, we will have a single SNOC, under which the “Goi” theater will also operate as a separate creative unit,” said the minister.
Moreover, Andreasyan says that the schedule of “Goi” is not threatened by anything. – “They decide their schedule, and it is decided by the audience, either coming to see these performances or not coming, and since with the new financing model it is also important for us that these performances have as many spectators as possible, then I think they should look at their schedule and understand which one brings them an audience and where they have a problem. It should be their decision, their artistic-creative policy, and the ministry does not make any decisions regarding the play schedule in any theater at all.”
Meanwhile, the theater has fears that their schedule will also suffer from this. Sargis Arzumanyan, the chairman of the management board of the “Goi” theater, says that they have no guarantee that their schedule cannot be changed by the intervention of the ministry or the management of the “Sundukyan” theater itself.
“Whether there will be an intervention by the ministry or by the management of the Sundukyan theater, it is logical that it will happen, now we want to do something like this, maybe the director of the Sundukyan theater will not find that performance appropriate, because he thinks that he will not be able to buy the tickets for that performance to sell Look, I’m telling you a simple logical thing: don’t do such a performance, that is, no matter how much we want to decide our game plan, based on the logical and management, in their own words, method, he will not find our performance appropriate or profitable, so that it will not be profitable for the theater. for”, said Sargis Arzumanyan.
“Goi” appealed to the court in the summer with the demand to declare the government’s decision invalid, but there is no verdict yet. During that time, the ministry submitted a new application to the theater months ago, again demanding to sign the agreement on uniting “Goi” with the mother theater. The management of the theater did not sign that document, they were waiting for the court process. However, the new director appointed by the ministry signed the document two days ago.
