The Armenian Film Society reports that Mickey Mouse Funhouse is set to air an episode centered on Vardavar that will feature the Armenian language.
The episode “Verdavar” was written by Kathleen Sarnelli Kapuchian, whose wife is Armenian. The author told the Armenian Film Society that he wrote the episode for his young son.
This is the first show of Armenian culture at Disney.
This episode revolves around Minnie Mouse wearing an inappropriate outfit to celebrate Rose Day. The official synopsis for the episode reads: Minnie encounters a fashion faux pas when she realizes she will be wearing the wrong outfit for the Vardavar Festival, a traditional Armenian festival that includes water games and festivities. Can Minnie find the perfect outfit in time for the festivities?
“Wardavar” will be released on Friday, March 1, 2024 on Disney Plus.
