news.am: ​​A scientific conference was held on the occasion of the military commemoration day of the great Iranian poet Ganjavi at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian-Armenian University.

Mehdi Sobhani, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Armenia, was present at this conference, and while thanking the organizers of this event, he spoke about this poet.
According to Mehdi Sobhani, Nizami’s work is the pearl of oriental literature.
In his turn, Garnik Asatrian, the president of the Russian-Armenian University, emphasized the historical importance of the poet’s legacy.
He said: Nizami Ganjavi is one of those rare poets who has clearly expressed the concept of Iran and especially Great Iran. In one of his works, Ganjavi praises Iran with this sentence: All the world is the body and Iran is the heart. Of course, the idea of ​​Great Iran is clearly and systematically expressed in Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh of the 10th century, but Ferdowsi lived in another time, place and dimension, and Nizami lived in another time. Nizami was without a doubt the carrier of the Iranian imperial worldview, which for its time in the twelfth century, dominated by the ideology of the pan-Muslim nation, seems simply amazing. From this point of view, when he is attributed a different and Turkish identity, it is simply ridiculous.
In this ceremony, opinions were exchanged about the life and military works of Ganjavi, the popularity of his legacy around the world, the manuscripts of this poet and other works preserved in Matandaran, the Russian translation of poems, etc.
This event was organized by the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences in cooperation with the Iranian Embassy in Armenia and the Iranian Cultural Center in the Republic of Armenia.
