In one of the ancient buildings of Kharkiv, women operate camouflage nets. The cafe operating in the basement of the theater of the young audience has also turned into a kitchen that prepares food for the army.

War is now a normal everyday life in Ukraine…..volunteers go to work every day to serve and support the combatants.

Director, screenwriter Tigran Paskeevichyan documented the war from the inside for 2 weeks with the “Faktum” documentary center. the film is called “Inside the War”. In some of the hottest spots – Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipro… settlements that are the target of Russian attack, they tried to show ordinary people who do not defend their homeland with weapons, but with love and care.

“It is very important to show how the society comes together, how it is consolidated in the conditions of war, the interesting thing is that this activity started in 2014 and did not stop until this new war,” Paskevichyan said.

During the war, the village of Bogorodichnoye in the Donetsk region changed hands 14 times. In the end, the Ukrainians recaptured and allowed people to return to their homes.

The authors of the film met one of the Armenians living in Ukraine on the front line. Vahe Mamikonyan, who before the war was the president of the Kramatorsk branch of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine, created a regional hub for collecting and distributing aid.

“While making the film, I thought that this is also very useful for us, to see someone else’s experience, to understand, because we had: young people gathered near supermarkets, put boxes, etc., but did we have such a thing that a person in his cafe or turn the restaurant into a full army kitchen or make his canteen 24 hours a day free food or something like that. In other words, we also have things to learn and I think that it will be useful for our society as well,” said Tigran Paskevichyan.

The premiere of the documentary film “Inside the War” was today… the authors say that this is just another page, the seemingly endless wars have different chapters, different unseen sides.
