YEREVAN-TOURINFO- “The Largest Serving of Gata” event took place on the 26th of September,2019 near Swan Lake area in Yerevan.
The team of “Yeremyan Projects” follows the beautiful tradition, and organized the tasting of “The Largest Serving Gata “which was dedicated to the capital city Yerevan. The company set a new record this year. The Gata was 65m long and weigh 410kg, beating its previous record.
This event’s goal is to make the world’s largest gata presentation and tasting a city tradition, which is very special for the Yerevan population, city guests and tourists, and will result in popularizing one of the most popular and ritual desserts of Armenian cuisine.
Last year on September 28, a representative of Guinness World Records Limited, Joanna Marry Brent, added world’s biggest gata in the “Guinness Book of Records”.
Gata is a type of Armenian pastry or simply Armenian sweet bread. While gata is adored throughout the whole country, each region has its own variation of it. Most of the time gatas are decorated with different ornaments and words.
