The short animation “Armat” made by Elodie Durmange, a Swiss filmmaker, is ready for the Oscar.
Eloudi Dermangeh, whose grandfather is Armenian, examines his family’s history in a short film by interviewing his father and aunt. Over the course of the film, he realizes that their inability to express love is passed down from generation to generation.
The Hollywood Reporter named “Armat” as one of 15 animated shorts that could win an Oscar.
Oscar finalists for several categories, including Best Animated Short Film, will be announced on December 21.
